Company Primer

Hemp Oil Canada Inc. contracts the production and supply of hemp seed with "world class" farm producers located on the Canadian Prairies.

Hemp is the "non drug - low THC" variety of the plant species Cannabis sativa L., which was re-legalized for cultivation in March 1998 by the Government of Canada and is administered and regulated by Health Canada.

Hemp, with its non-psychoactive properties, has been grown for thousands of years for seed, oil and fibre uses. Hemp has been purported to have some 25,000 different uses including food, textiles, paper, rope, bio- fuels, lubricants, building materials and paint to name a few.

Health Canada licenses all individuals and companies involved in the production, processing and distribution of hemp seed and oil derivatives for their respective activities. We are licensed with Health Canada to process hemp seed, hemp oil and seed cake products. In Canada, we are regulated to produce hemp derivatives containing less than 10ug/g (i.e.,10 ppm) of THC (delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol). Our products are batch tested for THC according to the Health Canada protocol for THC analysis found in the Industrial Hemp Technical Manual. We are pleased to report the concentration of THC in all our products is "None Detected".

Our products are all produced from viable hemp seed (non-sterilized) to insure product freshness and quality. Our hemp seed is grown without the use of any pesticides or herbicides. Hemp is a true non-GMO (genetically modified organism) natural seed product, free from any genetic manipulation.

Hemp Seed is grown in Canada as both conventional and "Certified Organic". Our conventional seed is grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or insecticides, but with the use of fertilizer to prepare the seed bed. Our "Certified Organic" hemp seed is grown in strict compliance with the organic certification standards of the certifying body Pro-Cert Organic Systems, who have reciprocal accreditation with most major organic certifying bodies worldwide.
